DC Jim Knowles (Official Thread)

Saying it's uncharacteristic is a bit of a hard pill to swallow. It has happened before, specifically against teams whose talent levels matches ours. I don't think we see another team like that until December thought so there's that at least.
Exactly. It hasn't happened once, it's a pattern. And no one expects to win big games 35-6. Just how about an occasional stop?

The days of seeing a straight up 4-3 defense are over unless you're playing a service academy or someone dumb enough to be under center around 80% of the time (Iowa). I didn't read the rest because unless you come to grips with that, none of the rest of it matters.
And even when we were playing a 4-3, we were using a tweener like Darron Lee at OLB, who was more safety than linebacker.

Missouri doesn't count?
And I would argue that 2023 tsun was more offense than defense.

The defense earned their criticism for the Oregon loss, but they've played well to enable a good offense to win other games in 2023 and 2024.
Offense did enough to beat scUM in 2021, 2022 and 2023. They did enough to beat UGA and Oregon (both times). Missouri doesn’t count. But if you want to count that game feel free. Defense has let them down every single time.

No? You think the defense was good enough in those losses to scUM, Oregon, UGA, etc?
I get trying to keep it positive, Mike, but damn. That’s next level smoke pumping that is usually reserved for DFBIA
I think you're trying REALLY hard to pin issues with losses solely on the defense for some reason. And I also want to note it's very obvious that scUM was cheating their asses off and you're ignoring that, but ok.

It's like the other teams aren't allowed to be good, or something. I'm all for Buckeye supremacy myself, but it's not realistic.

Sometimes you're gonna get beat. Blame whoever you want. Last year it was Parker Fleming. This year its Knowles. At some point it'll be JL or Hartline or whoever the easiest target is..... Just how it goes with some of you I guess.

SCUM '21, '22 don't count. If you really want to count SCUM '23 then throwing a damn near pick six and throwing another game ending pick isn't what I would call winning offensive football lol.
