I think this whole decision is hilarious now that he is ditching Syracuse. If Bazley had still been committed to OSU, it would have been devastating to many fans to have the G-league be chosen instead of helping rebuild the program. So glad he had chosen to bail a year ago instead of leading OSU on. Slimy Jim was in his ear telling him how bad the OSU program was to get him to decommit, and now he got ditched by the same kid in favor of minor league basketball. Gotta love it.

you do know that nothing is keeping any player from leaving early and getting a job, don't you? the world is full of all different types of jobs. you can become a truck driver, a walmart greeter, or a candlestick maker. or if you're good enough at basketball, you can go to the developmental league or play overseas. there is no right to the nba. moreover, there is no requirement that one must attend college.

think the kid made a very poor decision or got some very poor advice. Really good high school players do not always turn out to be really good semi professional players without going to college for at least a year to see how they stack up against older, more physical, competition.

so you want to de-commit? fine. whatever. it's your life. your reason is your own. i'm a washed-out adult and you're a teener wading through the vagaries of life. i hope goodwin and watson have stellar careers. no, i'm not going to begrudge you for what you think is best. but to call out your future teammates as not being good enough? nah... that doesn't sit too well with me, dawg. don't expect me to take the high road when things don't exactly turn out how you planned.

the positive spin from ohio state's point of view is that bazley is a wonderful cautionary tale for gaffney. those two are very similar for a number of reasons: height, size, skills, prospects, location, and ohio state. can't help but wonder if alonzo has been following darius and thought to himself, "yeah, i don't want any of that; i'm going to brewster to get my mind and body right."

Would love to see someone like bilas comment on Bazley, since he is adamant that the ncaa and universities use these kids and should be paying them what they are "worth". Here you have a kid who was a top 20 player in his class and guessing he can't make a dime off his name/likeness and it has nothing to do with the ncaa. the truth is, colleges give these kids the world and the best opportunity 99% of players will ever get.
