Contest VII - Where Am I?

ScriptOhio

Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
Since a lot of you like trivia, contests, and/or guessing games; I am having another contest to guess where I will be the next two weeks. Tomorrow I leave for "parts unknown"; actually I know where it is. Probably nobody has heard of the city so you only have to guess the country. The first person to guess the correct country (and the school, etc.) wins greenies, 1000 vDollars, and a gift. Note: The vDollars and gift are contingent on Deety (again) being willing to help on the transfer of the vDollars and buying the gift.
Thank you Deety.

Other unique, novel, funny, and/or close guesses may also get greenies. The clues are:

1. It is a country.

2. The most famous person from this country had a son that played college football in the US. Everyone has heard of the "famous person" and the school (actually an university).
3. A James Bond movie was filmed there.

To make it a little more difficult: You must guess the COUNTRY and the SCHOOL that the famous person's son played football for. First person to guess both the country and school wins. The place that I am going to be staying at doesn't have "cheap" internet service, so there will be no posts (with hints or acknowledgement of the winner) from me until I return. The winner to be announced and prizes awarded after I return (on 28 Aug 07).

The usual rules still apply:

You can guess as often as you like; however, one guess per post. Without this rule I'm sure someone would get the idea to cut and paste an entire atlas listing every city/state/country known to man and say one of these places.

No fair checking the internet address where the post was from.

Contest I - Where Am I?: Winner was FCollinsBuckeye

Contest II - Where Am I?: Winner was Bucky Katt (in 5 minutes)

Contest III - Where Am I?: Winner was Buckeye513 (in 7 minutes @ 4:47AM)
Contest IV - Where Am I?: Winner was Buckeye513 (in 1 hour and 8 minutes @ 3:42 AM)
Contest V - Where Am I?: Winner was PrincessPeach
Contest VI - Where Am I?; Winner was FCollinsBuckeye

Jamaica

Miami (Fl)

This is the winner. Jamaica's most famous person (Bob Marley) did have a son (Rohan) that was a pretty good football player for the Hurricanes in the early 1990s.

This may have been tough to get with "the school that the famous person's son played at". I remember seeing him play on a TV game; probably sears 3820 remembered seeing him too. Any other clue that I could think of would be a dead give-away (i.e. famous for several james Bond movies, one James Bond movie was named for a home there (Goldeneye), famous for Rastafarians, dreadlocks, or marijuana all would be a dead give-way, etc.
Greenies, vDollars, and a gift are on the way.

Monaco

Amherst College

This was a pretty good guess. I did "google" Prince Albert and found out that he went to Amherest. However, I don't think he played football per Albert II, Prince of Monaco - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"During school, Albert was an enthusiastic athlete, participating in cross country, javelin throwing, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, rowing, sailing, skiing, squash and fencing. He is a patron of Monaco's football teams. He competed in the bobsled at the 1988, 1992, 1994, 1998, and 2002 Winter Olympics."

Apparently he just didn't have the time for football at Amherst.
Greenies for you.

I can't think of anyone famous from Samoa; however you did get the school right. Greenies for you.

Yes, it was a "good call", especially since the football in Jamaica is round. Greenies for you.

To everyone else: Thanks for playing.
