Cleveland Browns (Finally drafting Buckeyes)

Any reasonable coach would have pulled Baker after that first pick.

Unfortunately for as decent a coach as Stef can be, he seems equally adept at doing dumb shit as well.

You should have ground this Lions team into the dirt with what the defense has given you. Baker has turned the ball over twice inside your own 35 yard and the defense has held the Lions
to only 3 points on those turnovers.

Even IF they pull this game out as a win, it still feels like a loss because this coaching staff (offensively) has failed miserably. Against any quality team this would be a 2 score hole.
For once we almost agree except for the fact that I would not have pulled Baker after that first pick because he would not have had the opportunity to make it. I am beginning to question Stefanski and the rest of the coaching staff except maybe for Callahan. Maybe last season was a admiration and that is why he was never a HC before the Browns hired him.

This coaching staff as not only failed miserably on the offensive side but you forgot about Joe Woods:shake:

I'd be cool talking Browns with you but your previous replies to me were bullshit that, for reasons I can't fully understand, targeted me only.

Same goes for a couple other posters, not so much in this thread though. OneBuckFan insultingly dismissed my observations on the Patriots having the makings of a good team, and that post is over a month old before they became all the rage. Still hasn't come back for his serving of crow.

And no, I haven't forgotten about Joe Woods. Dude handed up the KC and PIT game on a silver platter only for the offensive to hand it right back. Only to have a meltdown during the LAC game. Which, if transitive property is anything, shows us that a healthy Steelers or Browns defense MIGHT have fared a good deal better. edit: I still have my concerns though about him. He isn't blame free.

In the spirit of our Buckeye bond though, I'll wish you and yours a safe Thanksgiving and to have a great time for The Game.

Nah, Big Ben is a foot taller than Baker....

On a serious note, most people seem concerned that Baker's playing injured will lead to further injuries that might have long-term effects on his ability. IMHO, the real concern is that Baker will develop (more) bad habits because of his injuries, and that those bad habits will have long-term effects on his ability.

I know I'm in the minority, but I do think Baker has the ability to lead this team pretty damn far. We saw over the last couple of months last season and the first part of this season he's capable of playing at a pretty high level. Particularly if he's surrounded by real talent. Obviously the shoulder and the other injury issues around him are impacting him this year. Fans have a short memory, we all know this; but there's real danger in thinking you should move on from this guy based on one injury-riddled season. Can he win a SB? I don't know. But, the Clowns spent 20 years looking for a competent QB and Baker has been that most of the time. I know there's gonna be salary concerns soon and I do not think he's earned a top-10 QB paycheck, but there's a fine line to walk here...

Re: the bad habits...I don't see what they gain by continuing to play him if he's hurt. Keenum isn't anything special, or even good, but I don't see him as being a much worse option right now than a dinged up Baker. And you don't risk screwing him up further by continuing to toss him out there. But this is the Clowns, so he'll continue to play.

So this weekend has been a complete bag of ass so far....the question isn't whether the Browns will lose, it's by how much and also how much embarrassment will be attached to said loss...
Pretty much prepared for this. A Ravens beating, bye week with no Bucks or Browns and then the Ravens coming back to pick at the carcass a 2nd time after the bye.

That would effectively end my care for football in 2021. Blah.

(but maybe they do something good tonight)
