Chris Holtmann (ex-tOSU Bball coach, HC at DePaul)

What about the previous 4 years. It's not like we have only 3 games to assess his body of work

I think most of us were concerned about the decline of Ohio State basketball beginning in 2013 and more so about the way Thad Matta's relationship to the University was ended. The truth is that Coach Matta had back problems that affected his recruiting and stamina. My Dad had back problems just like Coach Matta. I've seen the debilitating effects firsthand and I knew in 2014 that his days as coach were numbered because he would never again be able to recruit and coach at the highest level. It is deeply saddening when health problems rob such an outstanding person of the ability to perform, but the truth is that the program Coach Matta left behind was very different than the one he quickly built. This is what Holtmann has been trying to deal with.

Posters vary in their opinions and you've expressed yours. We get it, you're not happy Holtmann. Loud and clear. Unless I miss something, he's not the only person you're unhappy with.

What's not clear is what you expect to happen in response to these negative evaluations and arguments?

Arguing with other posters to accept your viewpoint on BP really isn't a productive conversation. Opinions --and you are expressing your opinions not a fully-informed set of facts -- are like noses and everyone has one.

Deluding ourselves with the notion that Ohio State sports administrators, coaches, or players, owe it to the fans to listen to their opinions and account to them is equally silly.

So, please cool this argumentative approach. People post here to enjoy the conversations and get some insights. None of us can control the narrative on BP or expect other posters to respond to our arguments unless they want to. We can all read. We get it. There is no need to restate ourselves.

That said, let's all remember that the world is a really ugly place these days. People come here at the end of days filled with much more stress than we had in the early days of BP. Let us be kind to one another and respectful.

Asking someone what has Holtmann done in 4 years to impress them is argumentative?

I’m about 15 hours, hate week begins. At that point we are all Buckeyes until true evil is dispatched once again.

Up until that time, stow this stupid shit. No one gives a good flying Buckeye fuck about basketball in November.

It’s almost hate week. True evil walks this land once again. It must be dealt with. Conduct yourselves accordingly.

Fuck*ichigan.

I will give him credit today. IF they can keep this up, then I’m ok with the progress. My issue is NO big ten titles, NO big ten tournament champions and NO sweet 16 appearance’s. The first 4 years the same issues have plagued our teams EVERY year.
