Blown up =/= Tripped by his center trying to block the wrong guy and tripping him but whatever you want to see I guess...

nah it's all garbage....everything is garbage....blah blah blahI still put a lot of that bowl game on the position juggling and then having a seriously unproven QB room. The addition of Howard improves that a lot. Continuity along with that should be improvement before we add in the experience jump most get along the way. It won't happen just because but we have to expect it not to just deteriorate and get better with more run blocking
Both players were good in 2022 and regressed in 2023.The LG coming back is the guy we saw get blown up on the last play of The Game right?
Then we have last years center and this new guy who we also saw get blown up by tsun a lot in his last game.
That’s locked down and competent? I’ll grant you it’s three live bodies but not sure where anything is magically fixed.
I think the biggest thing was the loss of Wypler. He comes back and I think the interior of the line would have been a strong point. Jackson took a step back in performance but I chalk that up partially to a fact that Hinzman just wasn’t ready to start yet. Wypler/Jackson is significantly better than Hinzman/Jackson.Both players were good in 2022 and regressed in 2023.
It’s all about teamwork and coaching. Need a new coach (and another Tackle).

I'm not pretending.I saw him struggle all year. Just like the rest of them. That play stood out but if you want to pretend it’s all good knock yourself out.
I'm not pretending.
If you're going to pick and choose a play, at least be accurate.
To reiterate - be accurate. All the failure just blurs together after a while. I leave it to guys like you to enlighten me on when failing isn’t really failing.
Ok - I couldn't find this view for whatever....there was a double stunt up front by scUM - 55 and 94 went outside and 32 and whoever the other guy went inside. 32 pushes Jackson into Hinzman as his right post leg is up against Hinzman's leg...Hinzman having passed off his guy to the right guard....that's where the trip happened..Jackson had no where to set his post foot to meet the bullrush.@Jaxbuck has a good memory.
Jackson was out of position, got run over, and then tripped over Hinzman. No one was "blocking the wrong guy."

It always looks like everyone on the line is too damn close. You can't cut a guy off if you dint have any splits. Then they try to run behind that shit and wonder why it gets blown tf up.Ok - I couldn't find this view for whatever....there was a double stunt up front by scUM - 55 and 94 went outside and 32 and whoever the other guy went inside. 32 pushes Jackson into Hinzman as his right post leg is up against Hinzman's leg...Hinzman having passed off his guy to the right guard....that's where the trip happened..Jackson had no where to set his post foot to meet the bullrush.
The left tackle needs to work on his kick steps too but that illustrates the effectiveness of the stunt scheme scUM employed, he moved in briefly before having to recover outside....
If I can observe, however, their splits are too close in on a pass play. Maybe it was an adjustment in-game but to beat a stunt scheme you spread them out a bit if you're not expecting gap blitzes or something along those lines. Good pass blocking requires a strong base and the ability to shift your feet to engage you primary (inside/down/out) responsibilities. This was a straight pass blocking (probably should have been a 60 protect (LB was showing originally and dropped back) call at the line) situation, their splits are too tight, especially in the middle, which led to the mess McCord had to step up into.
I think its schematic myself and I don't like it much.It always looks like everyone on the line is too damn close. You can't cut a guy off if you dint have any splits. Then they try to run behind that shit and wonder why it gets blown tf up.
