Which game had the best crowd in the last 25 years of The Shoe? (Noise...electiricty...enthusiasm...excitement...etc...just all together a great crowd)

I'd say the history of the Shoe, but a lot of us haven't been around that long

I gotta go with the Fiesta Bowl. We took over that place and - while it certainly didn't get as loud as the Shoe yesterday - that crowd participated in every play and ultimately was a difference maker.

But for home games yesterday was tough to beat.

I'd like to say the craziest I've ever seen a crowd go was 2002 @ Purdue. Their "south stands" were all scarlet and grey, and I am amazed they are still standing after the celebration of Jenkins catch!

2003 Fiesta Bowl

The 2003 Fiesta Bowl felt like a home game. The scarlet and gray crowd was going around the stadium chanting "O-H-I-O." Heck, even the Varsity Club took over a local Tempe establishment. It felt like a tropical version of Columbus. What a game!

I can't come up with the year, me thinks it was 73, but it was a down year for the Bucks and scUM QB Tim Franklin (from Ohio) shot off his mouth a couple of times before the game. Q. "Does everyone from Ohio go to Michigan." Franklin, "Only the best." The buck D shut him down and their kicker...Bob Gentry?... missed at two chances to tie the game in the fouth quarter and then the bucks held them for 4 downs inside the five to end the game. The crowd was so pumped by Franklin's comments and by a banged up team that played their hearts out for nothing but the glory of beating tsun.

For me it was the '85 Iowa game. Iowa came in ranked #1 in the nation and tOSU got off to a great start with a blocked punt. I remember the weather changing to rain in the second half, and Chuck Long kept on asking the ref to quiet the crowd because their offense couldn't hear the signals. One of the big plays of the game is when Iowa had the ball inside OSU's 20 and went for it on fourth and 2. Chris Spielman met Ronnie Harmon in the hole for a loss. Game Buckeyes! I remember hearing a report that the crowd got so loud that one of the press tables collapsed from the vibrations.

2002 vs Michigan.
Ohio State was just one game away from our first national championship on over 30 years. And the only team that stood in our way was our most hated rival, Michigan. Of course the Wolverines were looking for a huge upset, but on that Saturday afternoon, it just wasn't going to happen if the Buckeyes and Buckeye faithful had anything to say about it. After every Buckeye touchdown or first down or whatever, the entire stadium just erupted.
I'll remember that game for the rest of my life.
