GA QB Dylan Raiola (Nebraska Signee)

Five-star quarterback commit expected to camp at Ohio State next week

Ohio State has just one camp next week. Turns out it might be the biggest showcase yet for the Buckeyes future quarterback.

Five-star quarterback and Ohio State commit Dylan Raiola is expecting to be in Columbus to camp with the Buckeyes next Tuesday. It’ll be his first trip to visit the Buckeyes since he committed to Ryan Day’s program last month.

Not sure how his body will grow, but Dylan's little brother in 2026, QB- Dayton Raiola attended the 1 day camp yesterday. He looks like he's quite thicker than big bro and is more likely an OL than QB. Closer to 6ft than Dylan's 6'3. In comparison, this was Dylan as a frosh(and already 6'3)

Maybe little bro hits a growth spurt in a year or so

Can't get a more ringing endorsement than that, this kid gets it. We're definitely going to see a lot of other top recruits following Dylan to Columbus in the '24 class and it seems like he has quickly embraced being a recruiter for us.

When Dylan Raiola made an unofficial visit to Ohio State at the end of March and into the start of April, he came away impressed. Like many recruits that walk through the doors of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, Raiola quickly felt something unique about the Buckeye program.

“I knew once they opened the doors they weren’t fake,” he said. “It was a family, it was a brotherhood and I could see it. It was evident with the players, with the coaches, how they ran practice. And so I knew that there was no place like it and it was special and it was an opportunity I couldn’t miss out on.

While the likes of Justin Fields, C.J. Stroud and Kyle McCord, to name a few recent Scarlet and Gray commits at the position, all come from different parts of the country and play the game a bit differently, they all have a couple of things in common. In addition to being talented quarterbacks, they all want to learn from Ohio State head coach Ryan Day.

“Man, I’m speechless,” Raiola said after camping with the Buckeyes on Tuesday. “I learn so much from him. Just taking everything just like a sponge. That’s my biggest thing coming here and doing that and I obviously want to get back out here and learn. I want to learn as much as I can before I get here so I’m ready.

“I really come out here to get work in and I never settle. I always want to get better, learn from the best in the world and coach Day is the best coach to do it. So just trusting him and trusting in him in everything that I do is key.”

Dylan Raiola was already the No. 1 player in the On3 recruiting rankings for the class of 2024.

Now he stands at the top of the consensus rankings.

The 2024 Ohio State five-star quarterback commit recently added another title to his resume: the No. 1 overall player per the On3 Consensus Rankings, which were updated Thursday.

Raiola has long been ranked as the No. 1 player by On3, but the Consensus Board is a culmination of all recruiting websites, and now, Raiola holds a unified top spot.

On3 released the initial On300 for the 2024 cycle two weeks ago, with Dylan Raiola debuting as the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect.

The Chandler (Ariz.) High signal caller is one of three initial five-stars in the 2024 cycle for On3 along with cornerback Desmond Ricks and defensive lineman Justin Scott. He also became the fourth active high school quarterback prospect to be rated as a five-star by On3 along with Arch Manning, USC commit Malachi Nelson and Tennessee commit Nico Iamaleava from the 2023 cycle.

If the last name sounds familiar, it’s because it is – Dylan is the son of long-time Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola.

Let’s get into what makes Dylan Raiola On3’s initial No. 1 prospect in the 2024 cycle.

Dylan Raiola is a top arm talent

Playmaking and creativity

Advanced technical polish

Production on Friday nights

Athletic pedigree

Moving forward
