OL Coach/Run Game Coordinator Justin Frye (Official Thread)

GA under Addazio during Meyer's Florida tenure, followed Addazio to Temple, then onto Boston College, where he worked alongside Ryan Day to turn Andre Williams from a lightly used 500-yard/season rotational player into a 2,177 yard RB his senior season en route to winning the Doak Walker award and being a finalist for the Heisman and Walter Camp awards. What Frye did with UCLA's line this year is also underrated, as Charbonnet also became a 1,000 yard rusher.

No way Day would be going thru this process of and rebuilding his staff if he was intending on jumping to the NFL this year.
I suppose there is a less then 1% chance he is promising the new guys a job on his NFL staff. But way less then 1%.

Why would he have fired Stud if he were going to jump.
Why would he hire Knowles at a huge salary or drag Frye across the country when he has numerous other suitors.

Frye was being paid $700,000 as UCLA’s offensive coordinator – the same amount Studrawa was paid to coach Ohio State’s offensive line in 2021 – so it’s safe to assume he’ll be in line for a raise with the Buckeyes.

Ohio State will easily have 3 assistants (Wilson, Johnson, and Knowles) making well over $1M and a couple others getting premium pay (Hartline and Alford). When all is said and done with the 10 assistants, give Gene Smith credit for allocating sufficient funds to get and keep the assistant coaches Day wants; which has to be one the highest paid group of assistant football coaches in the country.

I'm sure we can afford them and this should never not be the case.
