Any Cicadas Lovers out there?

:( We are getting bombarded by cidadas out here in Tartan Fields. It's especially annoying when they actually somehow get in the house. I absolutely can't stand them. How is everyone coping with the noise at night? I block it out by listening to some classical music (Ravel) with headphones.

The noise is awful where I work, but they're not bad at home for me since I live in the city. The worst part is that it's only half of them talking, cuz only the males make the noise. There have to be tons of them out there. And just imagine, all the ruckus is basically a bunch of horny bugs dropping cheap pickup lines. It's like an insect frat party, and we've all been invited!

I was up near Muirfield on Memorial Day, and they are BAD there. Just driving up the road, my car was getting dive-bombed, and the noise was definitely something else. I have tickets to the tournament on Saturday, and it should be interesting.

I've been working security at Muirfield since last Friday. It's not so bad when it's raining, but they sure make up for it once the sun comes out. I'm hoping some golfers catch 'em in their hair/clothes while trying to tee off.

I was in Cincinnati this past weekend and fortunately only had one experience with them. My fiancee and I went to the Montgomery Inn along the Ohio River and they were everywhere. We could here them in our car with the windows shut and the radio playing at a moderate level. When we got out of our car, you could not help but step on them and they kept landing on us. My fiancee cannot handle bugs at all and it was somewhat comical to watch her freak out.

What surprised me the most was how bad they were down by the river, but you didn't hear or see them in the downtown area only a mile away or at Kings Island.
