Another black eye for the Buckeyes?

I read this article this morning. Jesus Christ. How does this shit keep happening?

If O'Brien was involved as everyone says he was, then fuck him. He knows better. Same thing goes for assistants. As for boosters or host families, they should probably know better as well, but someone should be monitoring them more closely.

Is there any sort of position at OSU or other colleges where someone is employed to be in charge of watching all of this? I know coaches should watch some, but I also believe that they can't (and shouldn't have to) babysit every player on the team. If a position like this doesn't exist, maybe Geiger should create one- a Compliance Director or something.

People are fucking stupid. I fucking hate it when I read about shit like this tarnishing the image of my University, which I love.

There is a compliance director. Her name is Heather Lyke-Cantano and she lettered in softball for scum and is mentioned as a possible candidate for the AD job if Geiger retires. Draw your own conclusions.

Well, if I'm her boss, she's getting a "needs improvement" on her next report card....

Somebody ought to light a bonfire under her ass.

Wow... she's gotta go.

Here's something interesting from the SI piece. Radojevic actually paid the money back, but the woman who filed the lawsuit kept it. She sounds like quite a character. Also did I read that right that Bobon was getting it on with the booster's wife? If so you have to wonder what his intrests in all this are now. At this point, I'm not sure I can trust anyone involved in this.

This doesn't sound good for our program. If even some of this is true we had pretty poor control to say the very least.

Andy Katz from ESPN:
As for the NCAA, it looks for preemptive strikes by schools. Geiger took a major step forward by dismissing O'Brien before a formal investigation even begins. That will help Ohio State move forward quicker. It's the harshest move an athletic director can make, but in the eyes of the NCAA, it's the one that will get the most attention if it's done after there is proof.

On another thread, I made a comment about suing O'Brien and some felt that was an off-the-wall idea. I'll stand behind my suggestion. O'Brien's actions have damaged tOSU; firing him is not enough! If I intentionally damage someone's property/reputation, I can be sued for it..so can you.
Losing his job should not remove him from his responsibility for having caused the damage to begin with. Am I being harsh on a guy who has already lost his job?...DAMN RIGHT, I AM! Am I the only one (I know that I'm not) who is thoroughly fed up with all of the shit that has been going on in tOSU athletic department recently? Let's go back and recall some of it:

-Tyson Walter/LeCharles Bentley incident/lawsuit
-Belisauri (sp?) DUI
-Arden's DUIs
-Brandon Joe's DUI
-LI's FIRST brush with the law
-LI and IG "Bonnie and Clyde" escapade
-MoC...a novel by itself

Oh, now for the BB program

-Randy Ayers dismissal/gifts to recruits (small stuff by comparison)
-The two idiots who (I forget their names) were arrested for breaking into cars at an OSU parking garage.
-This latest mess with O'Brien

I'm sure others can be mentioned, but why bother. I'm a graduate of tOSU and root like hell for ALL of the Buckeyes, but this endless list of garbage NEEDS TO STOP! I think that actually seeking damages against a coach (or player) who causes damage is a very real, legitimate way to get things under control and to send a clear, strong message.

BTW: They need to fire that bitch from scUM, too. Compliance Director?..my ass!

Yeah, let's sue Brandon Joe cause he got a DUI...this is insane.

Do you realize what a stupid move it would be to sue OB? Do you think that he wouldn't be able to dig up some dirt or allege dirty things? That would be suicide, not to mention stupid. The penalty for breaking rules is getting your contract terminated, not being sued. The answer to everything today is to sue, and it's sickening.

Should we have sued Woody for giving money to players?
