Tbf, LJsr never said he was going anywhere. Fans wanted him to retire, and he has been steadfast on saying he's not ready to yet. And building some of the relationships with players and their family's has started to win outOh, how time changes stuff. LJsr reputed to be hanging 'em up, rebounds to pulling not one, but two DTs out of the South. OK, get that they're rebound guys, but hey! It is (almost) done. Am certainly glad that LJ is 'getting along' with Patricia, and that LJ is being flexible with the defensive schematics of a new DC. Not going to speculate about Day having 'a talk' with LJ and Patricia, but not naive enough to believe it didn't happen early on. Plus, the proof is in the pudding, as they say. Looking like DT is becoming settled, and gaining an edge rusher will come. Or maybe a LB candidate will eat their way onto the DL......
Agree…..even before Knowles left there seemed to be a continuous tension in not only game plan and prep but also in recruiting activity. He was / is a very smart defensive mind but is not a good program guy.Tbf, LJsr never said he was going anywhere. Fans wanted him to retire, and he has been steadfast on saying he's not ready to yet. And I dont think Day had to sit them down. I could see Patricia or LJsr approaching one another before the season and getting on the same page. Patricia seems like he has an open door with the coaches and players and is open to suggestions. Something that Knowles didnt seem open to, and it's been shown almost every week in posts from players and their family's
