AdMonkey making anti-smoking noise (3/30)

[Clarity]

Some of you may be seeing (hearing) some 300x250 auto-on audio anti-smoking ads run through AdMonkey in thread pages. We're trying to chase that down and stomp it out now.

We do not allow auto-play(audio) or auto-expand ads, but sometimes these sneak through the opt-out protections on the ad networks.

Sorry to any suffering. Hopefully they'll be gone soon.

Glad you brought that up. I had only heard the ad maybe once. Auto-playing ads (especially on message boards) are just no bueno.

I remember back when BP first started HTML coding wasn't blocked, so you could embed sounds in posts...one day I embedded the sould of a loud fart in a post and everytime folks loaded that page they'd get a nice surprise out of their speakers. Juvenille, but funny...

I remember that. I think it was in a djtidebuck thread. So while it may have been juvenile, it was certainly appropriate...
