2022/2023 Heisman Trophy Discussion Thread

ORD_Buckeye

Wrong glass, Sir.
I'll start this with a question. I just looked at the odds, and I'll concede that Young should be the slight favorite with Stroud second. But what in the wide world of sports is Quinn Ewers doing fifth tied with Treyvon. The guy's experience consists of a couple of slop time handoffs. Plus, he looked decidedly mediocre in the Whorns' spring game. Is this just a matter of Vegas saying, "give us your money stupid Tejas fan?"

They're back. Haven't you heard?

I'm rooting for Ewers. I can't wait for talking heads to make their comparisons to how Ohio State couldn't hold onto Joe Burrow.

I could care less about him. If he's the Tejas starting QB, then I'm rooting against him. Hard. Burrow put his time in and is an alum of the university. I don't claim his Heisman for Ohio State, but he does have real connections to the university. Ewers came here for 4 months so he could milk some NIL money, handed off a couple of times and then beat it back to Texas without even bothering to ever compete for the starting job. The kid means nothing to me or to Ohio State.

Makes for good TV ratings, but like @ORD_Buckeye , I could care less about how he does at Tejas. I'm not going to root against him, as I don't put energy into teams that don't affect OSU. And Ewers wasn't even a Buckeye long enough for me to remember that he was a Buckeye by the time the season rolls around.

I was being sarcastic. I'm not really going to root against him, unless it affects Ohio State. But I know that if he does well, the media will love to mention that he's another great quarterback that Ohio State failed to keep. That's going to be annoying.

Love Ewers at Texas. It'll fuck with the football lines for the first 4 or 5 weeks so I can cash in!

They'll score with Bijan and Worthy on Offense but they still have a shit defense. Overs here we come!
