Crystal Balls rolling in for UNC, including OSU insider Alex Gleitman and 247 top dog Jerry Meyer.
I get that they are a blue blood but I am not sure why Francis is so enamored all the sudden with the Tar Cheaters over the hometown legacy school that has been recruiting him forever.
Sickening. Hope it proves wrong. If it doesn't we're gonna need Weaver in 2018 and Penn in 2020 to help me stomach it.

It's not really that sickening. I've mentioned before that I don't think we're anywhere near a lock for Francis, and I would even put Indiana and Purdue as having equal shots with the Bucks, here.
He's enamored with the Heels in part because of the recruitment of Manley, a familiar face already in Chapel Hill. Assuming Carolina never gets any sanctions, you are talking a team that has Jordan's support and has been to the national championship in back-to-back years. Yeah, why go there?

Yikes. Engine is losing some steam to end summer.
I say get Coach Holtmann winning some games this next season and get the Buckeyes back in some spotlight. Still believing strongly.

That escalated quickly.
Kind of like the Kennard situation...even peak recruiting Matta would have had a hard time keeping him in Ohio from Duke. Sometimes when the big boys come calling, the kids want to go. Urban has exploited this ruthlessly on the grid-iron side, obviously.

Huge blow. This was a legacy recruit who also happened to be the consummate floor general, something that we very much needed. OSU wanted him badly and couldn't beat out the blue-blood even with all the academic fraud around that program.
I just hope we greatly soften the blow with some ace 2018 guards and Penn in 2020.

I do like the "....here's my top 10...." and then committing not even a week later approach. Roy must have called and said, "You coming or not?" He committed about a week after receiving a Carolina offer.

yep. if i were given the choice between unc and the current osu program, there is little doubt i would be a tar heel. maybe that would change if the program were to show healthy progress heading into march.

Hmm, play for defending national champion, with a high school teammate, for a legendary coach, at a blue blood school with constant media coverage versus playing for a rebuilding dumpster fire, hometown team, in an arena that's morgue-like that my dad played for?
