Kyle Rudolph, Alex Welch, Alex Smith, Kevin Koger, name other Ohio TE's that have gone elsewhere. All 3 from the Cincinnati area have gone to ND while Koger's gone to scUM from Toledo. DiLillo is the lone exception from Madison. I really hope Hamilton breaks the cycle if offered.

Agreed...it seems like our old friend Steve Hare thinks that ND has first choice of any TE in the state of Ohio because they landed two kids from Elder...

I live and coach in his conference (diff. division, thankfully) and it's very pro-OSU/anti-ND in this area, not sure how he is though. He came over from Benedictine HS just last year to be closer to his home. Very gifted all around athlete. Watching him play basketball you can tell he's a superior athlete with good feet, his body frame tells you he will stick at TE and not turn into an OT.

ESPN: Ohio juniors adding offers

Junior tight end Ray Hamilton (Strongsville, Ohio) landed his first two formal offers. Hamilton, who is also on the 2011 Watch List, said his coach told him Pitt and West Virginia faxed scholarship offers.

"I'm excited about those," Hamilton said. "But I'm keeping an open mind."
When asked about other schools he is interested in Hamilton said, "Definitely Ohio State and Notre Dame. And Alabama has been coming on strong over the summer. UCLA has shown a lot of interest and Oregon invited me to their games. I'm going to Ann Arbor this weekend for Michigan's game."

From the Pitt site...has offers from Pitt, Colorado and West Virginia...his head coach talks about Ray having started since he was a freshman...Ray will look at how schools use their TEs...coaches from Alabama, LSU, UCLA and Nebraska have been in to see him. Talks about watching Dorin Dickerson on his visit to Pitt and is interested in WVU (dad went there).

One of the best tight ends in the state of Ohio for the 2011 class, the Strongsville prospect has already been offered by four programs, and has some heavy hitters lined up to take the plunge in the coming weeks.

Continued...

To date, his offer sheet holds checkmarks from the likes of Akron, Colorado, Pittsburgh and West Virginia.

"I just got my tape out last week to about 25-30 schools. Alabama, LSU, Florida, Ohio State. I went to a game at Michigan, West Virginia, and at Pitt. UCLA, Nebraska, just schools in every conference are all over the place. It's an open field, and I'm looking forward to the process."

I was thinking of Justin Hamilton, who transferred from Benedictine to Strongsville. But the rest of that statement remains true.

And he fits the Wisconsin/Iowa TE mold; a big and athletic pass catching threat.
