The state's most recruited running back may turn out to be Frostproof's Carlton Thomas (5-9/175), who has a blend of speed (10.6 seconds in the 100 meters) and power. Before attending FSU's Junior Day last month, he had 18 scholarship offers. NFL running back Travis Henry is a Frostproof alum.

Chuck Loveless, Frostproof's athletic director, said Thomas is being pursued the hardest by Arkansas and Ohio State. "[Ohio State Coach] Jim Tressel said his highlight film was one of the best he's ever seen," Loveless said.
