    NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

For Mahomes? They're routine. For Fields? Not so much.

    NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

This is a jet tap, which the Jets have used. It's just an extension of the running game. The Chiefs don't have a great RB situation, so they have to supplement their offense. This is a pre-snap sight adjust and read of the overhang defender against the Lions two high shells. It requires a...

    NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

Why would Tyreek be relevant to this conversation if it wasnt cause and effect? Otherwise you would have just said "Patrick Mahomes has regressed these past few years". Tyreek is gone and the OL has taken hits along with age. Less weapons and less time to push the ball vertically. Hence...

    NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

No. This is purely presnap. Something Mahomes has to do with the RPOs you're describing. Identify the overhang, throw off his leverage. What you're saying that Mahomes is told exactly where to throw pre-snap by his coaches with no exception and no read, doesn't exist. Otherwise there would...

    NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

No, that is wildly incorrect. This is a pre-snap out/in decision based on the leverage of the overhang pre-snap. Man motions with Wilson. --> Is in inside shade? ----> Yes Throw the out --> Is he outside shade? ---> Yes Work the stick. It's the NFL equivalent to a gimme. What You're...

    NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

Then can you explain why he is unable to do just that in the pictures here as I've submitted above? This is Wilson motioning to a rub (sounds dirty) Eye it. See it. Throw it. It's as close to a "no read" as you can get at the NFL level. But he fails to execute these concepts a lot.

    Interesting. Justin Pre-season week 1 Didn't even throw. ------------------

    NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

You can't just discount meaningful categories and substitute them with your own reality of "he immediately throws". The time to throw is fast. But the clean pocket time is proportionately lower than QBs who frequently go further downfield - Allen, Lamar, Baker, Herbert, Hurts, etc etc No...

    NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

Justin can't even currently complete 70% of his passes when he gets an open primary now. Say this part again, but slower. JT wasn't even good enough to be a 51% passer in the preseason and struggled throughout his training camp stops. I get what you're saying- you believe Mahomes is a...

    NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

Ok. Well, then, no - we aren't going to do this because we can't do this. As plainly and politely as I can say it. Evaluating QB play without the most important tool is a fools errand. And we won't be operating on a mutual level of information or understanding. It would be like...

    Cleveland Browns (Factory of Sadness)

Reminds me of Joe Woods. Now, I don't lament moving on from Woods, especially in comparison to Schwartz. That said, Joe Woods wasn't the #1 problem with the Browns defense when he was here. Moving on from Stefanksi will net no positive impact without a massive infusion of young...

And so many offenses use TE leak for misdirection chunk plays. Bullets weren't having any of it.

QB Justin Fields (2019-20 B1G Off POY, 2020 Silver Football, 2019 B1G CCG MVP, New York Jets)

If JF landed on a team with incredible talent around him, you'd absolutely see him get better. But then we would be having the conversation of talent floating Justin vs Justin elevating the talent around him.

QB Justin Fields (2019-20 B1G Off POY, 2020 Silver Football, 2019 B1G CCG MVP, New York Jets)

I suppose it's possible. But at the same time, there's a part of me that feels we saw his ceiling as a passer in 2020. I highly doubt 2021 would have fixed what we're currently seeing with him now. And his passing yards average per game has been incredibly consistent throughout his stop...

    LB Arvell Reese (National Champion)

His use reminds me of some of these odd front backers you see from PHI, BLT, MIN, and N.E. They move all over the front. Edge, off-ball, etc etc. Either way, they're gap shooting, edge wrecking pieces you place all over. Best college comparison I can think of is somewhere between Micah...

QB Justin Fields (2019-20 B1G Off POY, 2020 Silver Football, 2019 B1G CCG MVP, New York Jets)

Less than 30 passing yards in the 3rd qtr and he's missed on some fundamental stuff. He's every bit as physically capable as anyone. Mentally, JF is so wildly inconsistent that it's like watching two different QBs. Inconsistency is the death of NFL QBs.

Game Thread #1 tOSU at Illinois, Sat. Oct. 11th, 12 pm ET, FOX

At this point I refuse to watch any Fox pre-game show. If I wanted to watch some WWF type shit, I would have permanently stayed 12 years old. When did it become 'not enough' to just be excited for a good game and talk shop about personnel then X's and O's? Why the drunken, 80's...

    NFL Discussion (Official Thread)

PHI has to go back to giving Quon 20+ carries and Hurts 10-12. He's not capable of passing them into offensive efficiency.
