Charlie Campbell, who does mocks for WalterFootball, had one for us that I really liked:
R1: Randy Gregory (DE, Nebraska) - Even two years ago MJ wasn't really getting to the QB a lot, so I love the addition of Gregory as a pure 3rd down pass rusher as a rookie and let him grow in the future...
Rick Barnes coached a college team with Kevin Durant, DJ Augustin, Damion James, and Dexter Pittman and lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament. It's just unfathomable how he's remained their coach for 8 more seasons.
I will say that I was at the OSU - PSU game this year and the white-out + white pom-poms + very well coordinated cheering/chanting looked pretty awesome.
Compensatory picks announced yesterday, Bengals picked up a 3rd and a 4th, which I hadn't heard anything about. Really nice haul for them, I think the thing I'm most excited about is that it gives us an opportunity to go BPA if there's someone in the 1st/2nd we really like but isn't a need...
I saw Dehner's tweet about this after the Michael Johnson signing, but I'm not sure exactly how this works. As I understand it, we don't get Tampa's 3rd round pick, but rather additional picks are added at the end of the third round. So not sure that how bad Tampa was last year impacts our...
Like I've said earlier, any three of OT/DT/LB in the first three works for me. You now give yourself the luxury of BPA at any of those 3 positions. I would be excited if we looked at Ogbuehi, he's going to fall cause of his ACL tear but we don't need him this year so we may be able to get value...
Pretty pathetic effort by Spurs today in what was basically a must-win game for their CL chances. The defense on the Rooney goal in particular was just awful.
I'm completely on board with either Johnson or Fairley. Fairley battling weight concerns scares me some and he's never been more than a rotational DT, but a great one when he's in, him and Atkins on passing downs would be lethal. Johnson, obviously last season scares me but we were able to get...
Current reports have us signing Greg Hardy in FA, which I would be HUGE fan of that move. His off-field incidents will drive his price down but he was elite the last 2 years prior to that. If that's the case, I think it gives us the flexibility to go BPA if there is anyone who blows our socks...
Hadn't seen the article or the stats, but to me even more so than the numbers (which I'm glad validate my thoughts) its a style-istic comparison. Russell reminds me so much of Steph in that:
he's a decent but certainly not great athlete with a pretty slight build (although he's got a couple...
Quoting RB's post from 2014 thread here.
I think we have to go either DT or DE... I just don't think LB is that important a position in today's NFL to merit a 1st round pick on it (see Raiders, Panthers defensive utility despite top NFL LBs, and SFs to lose Willis/Bowman and still be good...
Michael Thomas - WR - Buckeyes
CBS Sports' Dane Brugler believes Ohio State redshirt sophomore WR Michael Thomas is "a much better NFL prospect" than teammate WR Devin Smith.
"OhioState WR Michael Thomas is a much better NFL prospect than WR Devin Smith in my opinion. He's draft-eligible too,"...
So as I try to follow this clusterfuck of a thread, I still haven't seen anyone write a rational argument for why the NCAA should preclude someone (be it the bowl game, the school, boosters, etc.) paying for the parents/families travel. I get that people may not agree with it for a number of...
