  1. '14 IL SG L.J. Peak (Georgetown Verbal)

I'd bet that is a type-o and those are his Soph season stats in actuality! He is definitely a 2014 class member.
  2. '14 IL PG Larry Austin (Tennessee Signee)

Would like to see some renewed interest by the staff in this kid. Probably would be a good idea to sign two PGs in the '14 class with Scott being a SR, when they come in, and most of the other targets potential one-and-done candidates.
  3. '13 OH PF Deontae "Teddy" Hawkins (Quakerdale Academy; Illinois State)

Did you see the date on that story? It is a year old! He never made it to Wich St and is now back on the open market. The asst who was instrumental in signing him has left that program as well. Try again! :D:!:!
  4. '13 OH PF Deontae "Teddy" Hawkins (Quakerdale Academy; Illinois State)

With Keita Bates-Diop committing yesterday, that leaves only four schollies open. Probably means Teddy is not going to get his offer now after all. Tate probably better jump on board soon or his opportunity may be gone as well.
  5. '13 OH PF Deontae "Teddy" Hawkins (Quakerdale Academy; Illinois State)

Since Thad missed on pretty much every other 4 or 5 he was looking at early, an offer to Deontae may just end up happening. Never heard of Quakerdale Academy, what is their mascot? :osu:
  6. OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

What? Lighty was close to a 5 star actually, if not for his injury he would have been. Diebs was also a T75 player in his class which most consider a 4 star. Zelle was a borderline T100 coming out and could be called a 3 star but he was a high 3 I'd say.
  7. '13 NH F Noah Vonleh (Indiana Verbal)

Thanks! That is not good though. I was hoping he'd be able to visit us and still sign early right after. Now we have to hope he doesn't fall in love with IU and that we can still get him to commit after his visit here even though it means waiting until April to sign him. That is not a great...
  8. '13 OH F Nigel Hayes (Wisconsin Verbal)

No offense, but the staff hasn't even looked at any PGs for this class at all. With Craft and Scott back next season, I doubt any would be interested as there are no mins left for a 3rd PG. They have been targeting 2014 for their next PG ( since Craft will be gone and Scott a SR ) forever. So...
  9. '13 NH F Noah Vonleh (Indiana Verbal)

Baptist now says he will be visiting us on Michigan weekend ( 11/23-11/25 ) instead of the following week as some reported. Does that give him time to still sign early?
  10. '13 OH PF Devin Williams (West Virginia Verbal)

It has been a strange saga. He reportedly was all UCLA and Xavier, with us a distant 3rd. Then he eliminates UCLA because they are too far away and Xavier because they are too close to where he grew up. Sounds like it may come down to WV or us now as close enough for his family to attend games...
  11. '13 OH PF Devin Williams (West Virginia Verbal)

Build wise and being inside-centric I'd agree that TD is a comparison. He was highly underrated coming out of h.s. due to several knee operations, particularly one that limited him as a SR. So he was even lower-rated than Devin is by most back then. But the one thing that TD and Sully both...
  12. '13 OH PF Devin Williams (West Virginia Verbal)

S&GFAN, I think Devin is in the 75-100 range on most scout's lists because he is a bit lacking athletically. Like Jared he will not jump out of the gym anytime soon. Which limits his upside at the next level some I think. He is pretty strong and reasonably crafty inside - not Jared strong or...
  13. '13 OH PF Devin Williams (West Virginia Verbal)

I've never seen him listed under 6'8, and some even list him as 6'9. I don't know where the 6'6 came from but it is plain wrong. He is more of a post than a F right now. I'd call him a 5 who could eventually play some 4 in time at the next level. He is more comfortable on the low block than...
  14. '13 NH F Noah Vonleh (Indiana Verbal)

I don't care what he or his coach says now, if he is visiting all of his leaders before mid-November, he will sign early. No reason to visit now otherwise. The "he may" really means "he will", in recruit-speak.:D :osu:
  15. '13 OH PF Devin Williams (West Virginia Verbal)

Bob Baptist tweeted that DWilliams will be visiting tOSU next weekend 10/27 after visiting MEM this weekend. Sounds like he'll be coming to a decision soon - in plenty of time to sign in November. Despite a lot of the recruits we've been after jumping at their first official visit school, I...
  16. F Arsalan Kazemi (transfer to Oregon)

With Thomas 99% going pro, that gives 5 ships open. The advantage of a SR xfer is that you only tie up the ship through the 2013/14 season. It would be free to sign a 2014 recruit with so there is almost no downside. With 5 openings this would be a no brainer.:osu:
  17. '13 IL SG Kendrick Nunn (Illinois Verbal)

Sounds like Groce is really putting the pressure on him to stay in-state. I hope Matta can convince him the master is a better fit than the pupil.
  18. '13 TX PF Jordan Mickey (LSU Verbal)

Anyone know when he's planning on committing by? Is it a "first to commit" situation with he and Nigel Hayes?
  19. SG Kameron Williams (Sayago - Uruguay)

Burson was extremely strong for his size. I vividly remember he was said to have regularly lifted with the Offensive Lineman in his time at OSU. He supposedly benched over 350 at 155 lbs. Little guys who excell in basketball, like Burson and Scoonie Penn, seem to be extremely strong for their...
  20. '13 MD C Bee Jay Anya (NC State Signee)

The other article says his wingspan is 7'4", that sounds more plausible than 7'9". I hope he makes it to his official at OSU on 10/5, if he does I think we have a decent chance.:osu:
