That is a fair point, Jake. But if you set it up to end our baseball roto season to correspond to the beginning of the Buckeye football season, then maybe the guys will stick to it until the end of August knowing it is a good sports diversion until football starts. At least it wouldn’t include...
Could you set up a 6x6 roto with the same categories as the current head to head format has? That way you are incorporating both holds and saves as separate roto categories?
I wouldn’t mind trying something different to shake things up a bit and try roto for a year, and if the group doesn’t...
I think you are right! Throw in a 6-5-1 finish once and MD beat me 5-4-3 last year. Crazy to think about being on the losing end of each of those close title matches…
smh :smash:
Can’t believe I was caught in the stolen base category on the last day. Oh well, looks like I get to add another bridesmaid dress in the closet. Nice W @MD Buckeye
Shit, I just dropped the wrong Lopez. Any way I can get Pablo back on my team for Reynaldo @Jake?
I get it if not, just not the most opportune time for a mis-click.
Guess this is how I get so many runner-up finishes!
It sure as hell did last year. You don’t really think about regular season standings mattering too much until you end up in a close playoff matchup in which they mean everything.
Sorry man. Riley has not been as good this year as the last few years up until the last few weeks when he has caught fire. Hated to see Seager end up on the IL again as he has been fantastic when healthy this year. I gotta say, it is fun having a team that mashes. Can’t say I have had an offense...
I like the idea of getting a bad contract of the books in exchange for getting better prospects. And I understand you don’t want to mortgage your future by trading for a two month rental especially when you are a year or two ahead of schedule, but there is something very intriguing in getting a...
Was watching MLB Tonight and they were talking about potential trade destinations for Shohei Ohtani since the Angels are imploding. They made the argument for the Reds trading Christian Encarnacion-Strand and Noelvi Marte to rent Ohtani for the last few months of the season to push for a playoff...
Ronald Acuna signed an 8 year, $100 million contract extension in 2019. Corbin Carroll signed an 8 year, $111 million contract extension this spring. If I were the Reds, I would be trying to lock EDLC up to something similar to Carroll’s contract right now. I know it has only been two weeks, but...
That would be interesting to see. I did make a conscious effort to draft offense early and often this year. Usually I fall into the trap of drafting top tier pitching too early but that doesn’t play as well in our league’s format.
I don’t know about that @heisman, I was 7th like 5 weeks ago and 4th going into last week, so I will attribute my turnaround to a couple good free agent pickups and youngsters like EDLC stepping up and definitely not the fact there are three Redbirds currently on the roster. I hope it lasts, but...
Just saw the latest and greatest offer. While I would love to accept it, I don’t think I could in good conscience. I mean it was more lopsided than a bad 1980’s boob job. Although after EDLC’s first couple ABs tonight, maybe that Acuna rookie year comparison inches a little closer to reality.
Damn, EDLC looked good last night. I know there is about a 10% chance he turns into the rookie version of Acuna and about a 50% chance of hitting the waiver wire or being sent back down to the minors at some point this summer, but my Reds fandom wants to see if the 10% actually happens. Sorry...
