So because Troy played punt coverage (and how often was that??) he was not recruited as a QB, got it.
Your point is an assumption - we have no idea how the staff view Noland and Sayin, and since they were both early offers I think it's much more likely they were viewed as 1A and 1B by the staff...
Troy was a QB, always was to the staff and Zwick would actually in that same interview go on to say the same thing.
And you're splitting hairs with the Noland and Sayin on the rankings, as they are nearly identical (ESPN has them 1 and 2, Rivals has them 2 and 3, etc.)
We'll just have to agree...
Well, fill me in, why is it not?
This came directly from Zwick...
"While recruiting Zwick, Ohio State's coaches told the quarterback, ranked No. 3 in his class by Rivals.com, that he was the only player at his position the Buckeyes were going to take.
"They actually said they weren't going to...
Both will come and the best will stay, love the competition.
Imagine not taking Troy Smith because you feared Justin Zwick would get his feelings hurt.
We see this competition in the WR room and we brag about it, now we want to do an about face?
As others said, Air and Julian will be paid...
We are either for competition, or against it....we can't have it both ways.
Should we not take Sayin because Noland is against it? I love Noland's potential, but you do everything you can to improve at the most important position in the sport - period.
I think Noland is great, but I watched a lot of the Elite 11 and Sayin was the clear #1 to me. Take that with a grain of salt as that's in shorts with no defenders, but I happen to remember another So Cal kid who jumped off the screen in shorts that worked out pretty well.
Can we potentially transfer some of the annual member dues from BP to Mr. Proctor for NIL purposes? I'd like to at least know my $69.99 is going towards a purpose.
I'm not so much referring to the coaching staff as I am the roster, which he most surely has avoided hurting feelings many times with his current players.
It'd be on par with the Knowles hire, if not better.
I say better because he should already be a P5 coach...he brings a ton of experience as a HC for a very good Toledo program, only 44, Ohioan.
On top of that, you saw what he did with Finn & Boone last year - now imagine what he can do with...
One thing I loved about Saban, which I think just now Day is starting to show, is he doesn't care if he hurts feelings. You owe it to your team to give them the best chance to win, so put your ego aside, stop calling plays, recruit the best and if players want to leave because of that - adios...
I don't disagree - asking nearly 72,000 people to drive in that weather is asinine and it puts a huge unnecessary strain on public services that are already going to be incredibly busy.
I can't hate on Kiffin - he certainly has his faults, but he is one of the few left that truly isn't afraid to speak up about the issues with college football while also not being an angry curmudgeon like Saban. I appreciate guys like Lane & Chip Kelly for speaking out.
