Premier League (Official Thread)

I'm watching west ham and villa. Nearing the end of the first half with west ham up a goal. These two squads are going to have very long seasons and I expect them both to be circling around the relegation line unless there are some major changes that are unlikely to occur.

Edit...switched to Swansea and QPR...man this game is WIDE open.I wish I didn't already know how it ends...these guys are all over the place.

Was hoping for Spurs to draw, expected a loss, and got exactly that. Levy needs to do some business right meow because this is an incomplete squad.

Yep, two squads in transition right now, Arsenal and Spurs, both waiting on buys prior to the close of the window.

AVB already said he wants a striker from the money from Modric. I'd like to see a keeper and a striker, rather than just a high-tier striker.

I think Villa are going to be buyers in the winter transfer window. Not big buyers by any means, but they'll need to make moves to avoid relegation this year IMO.

Excuse me, did you just say meow?

Also, I didn't know that all of the pitches in the EPL have to be the same size this year. Stoke are probably furious.

The foul-language enforcement is more interesting to me.

If it actually is enforced, resulting in sending offs, people will go bananas.

Really, it's just a rule to appease advertisers.

Not really for a good reason, but who'd of thought that an American (Clint Dempsey) would dominate a good portion of Premier League talk on British sports radio the opening weekend?

The last time an American dominated the talk on British sports radio was the Glazers takeover of United.

And most (on the radio) agree Dempsey is not handling this well.

Could easily be 5:0 or worse. WBA have missed a pen and a sitter in this second half.

Just as easily could have been 2-1 at the half if Suarez could put it away.
The red card on Agger was too much and the penalty on Skertle was a bad call.
It was ugly, but its early, they'll get better.
